"Revamped menu worth a ****1/2 rating.
. . . down-home food that showcases the best in Southern cooking."--The
Roanoke Times, 7/25/05.
The
historic Pine Tavern was started in 1927, with
old state Route 221 running behind the restaurant.
Originally, the Pine Lodge served meals in their
lobby. The fare was similar to what you can
find in today's Pine Tavern. Most of our recipes
are from Mama Nell, my grandmother. These recipes
were tested by me every Sunday for
over 25 years in a small town, much like Floyd,
in the shadow of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains.
We hope that the same feeling of family, hospitality,
history, and heritage is imparted to our guests.
